Rev. Dr. Penny Zettler came to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in July, 2007. This is the sixth congregation in which she has served in a pastoral role. She is a passionate, enthusiastic pastor who has drawn the people of St. Paul’s together, helping us to discover our gifts, and how to use them to best give back to God. Penny has infused this church with a love and passion for God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. She enlivens the word of God, giving it color, depth, and clarity. Penny’s strong, encouraging leadership has given new life to the people of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

Penny’s husband, Eric Zettler, is an integral part of her ministry here. He uses his gifts to enhance her gifts. They have two grown children and four grandchildren. Penny enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Penny believes in the YES of God. She sees grace and joy as the ultimate invitation from God’s hand. She understands Jesus to be continuing to offer his treasured friends a life of fullness and hope. These are the deep beliefs that empower Penny to lead and draw others toward a Christ-enfolding life – through whatever ministry or avenue is open.

Penny’s experiences in every church she has been have included people who live in loving concern and hope in Christ’s best for the world. She has delighted in being part of a people who struggle to live together in spite of differences in theology and style. In this kind of circle, she has grown to believe more and more in the power of hope and joy.
