And we're off! Hopefully, by now, all the youth have their copies of The Story and the parents have their copies. Hopefully, everyone's reading their chapter each week, coming to worship and hearing God's story related to our stories. Hopefully, both youth and adults are connected to a group where they can share questions, discuss ideas, and grow in their faith in a community of wisdom and trust!
It's been such a fun beginning with the youth - listening to what sticks out in the stories to them each week. Noticing all the instances of sibling rivalry and family dynamics (that I've never really paid attention to before). Feeling "pitiful" with Joseph when his brothers threw him in a pit. Watching Moses tell God his insecurities about being God's spokesperson - and cheering when God offered him help in his brother, Aaron. We spend each Sunday class reviewing last week's chapter and discussing the new week's with video clips, reading, drawing, and conversation. Such a fun beginning! And such a great new group of youth!
If you're a youth (grade 7-12), and you haven't joined us yet - you're more than welcome (and I have more books!) We meet at 9:30 am, Sundays, in the "Library".

Youth Fellowship (FUN) Activities
Open to all of our youth (grades 7-12). Friends are welcome! Nov. 20: Lunch and a Movie, following worship! We'll head to Old World Pizza for lunch, then off to the Inver Grove Heights Theatre for a movie. (We'll decide on the movie the week before.) Parents and mentors are welcome (and we will likely need drivers...)!
Service
Nov. 22: Feed My Starving Children, 6-7:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving as a family and as a church, as we give food and health to kids all over the world - by simply bagging meals for an hour and a half. Sign up with Megan if you'd like to volunteer!
Nov. 24: Walk to End Hunger at Mall of America! Want to walk off some Thanksgiving calories before you eat?! Want to raise money for others to have meals on their tables? Want to support Neighbors, Inc and have great fun while doing it?! Come, join Mike and me and hundreds of others as we raise money and show solidarity in stamping out hunger in Minnesota! Watch for brochures and info - coming soon!
Special Worship
Nov. 23: Community Thanksgiving Worship Service, 7:00 pm, at St. Paul's UMC. Join us as we celebrate God's blessing and goodness with other faith communities in our neighborhood! This is a wonderful, uplifting beginning to the Thanksgiving weekend!
Blessings, Megan Adams
